HYV’s Events feature makes it simple to turn ideas into real-life experiences. Whether it’s a small gathering or a community-wide meetup, events are where connections come to life.

To create an event, just select the top left button or swipe up on the modal bar at the bottom of the screen and choose Event. Add your details—time, place, and visibility—and decide if it’s private for a group or open to the wider HYV community.

Every event comes with dedicated chat to keep attendees in sync, plus media sharing so everyone can upload photos and videos from the experience. With RSVPs and map visibility built in, it’s easy to host, join, and relive the moments together.

From study groups and professional mixers to outdoor adventures and night outs, HYV Events makes gathering effortless and unforgettable.

HYV’s Social Discovery makes it easy to connect with the right people—whether you’re looking for new friends, professional opportunities, or something more personal. With discovery tailored to your intent, HYV helps you find meaningful connections that fit your life.

• Social: Discover nearby groups, activities, and events where you can meet new people who share your interests—whether it’s hiking, game nights, or just finding others who want to hang out.

With HYV’s three discovery paths, you’re always in control of how you connect—making sure every interaction starts with the right intent.

 HYV’s Chat feature keeps your connections alive beyond the map. Whether it’s one-on-one or with a whole crew, you’re always just a message away.

To start a new chat, simply select the Chat button in a user’s profile, group, or event. Or, if you want to pick up where you left off, navigate to the chat bubble at the bottom of your screen to see all of your existing chats. From there, you can connect directly with your contacts, build group chats for ongoing conversations, or launch dedicated event chats so everyone attending stays in sync before, during, and after the event.

From casual conversations to coordinating meetups, HYV Chat makes sure the connection doesn’t stop when the map closes.

 HYV’s Look Ahead feature makes it easy to see the pulse of any area—whether it’s across town or across the country. With just a tap, you can explore what’s happening right now in places you care about.

To use it, simply tap the “Eye” icon in the top right corner of your screen. This switches your map into Look Ahead mode, highlighted with warm orange tones. From there, just tap on the area you want to preview, and HYV will instantly show you the events, meetups, and activity happening within that radius.

Want to find the busiest spot in your city tonight? Drop into Look Ahead. Planning a trip and curious what’s going on before you arrive? Preview your destination ahead of time.

With Look Ahead, you don’t just wait for connection—you can see it coming.

 With HYV you’re always in control of how far your circle of discovery goes. Want to keep things close to home, or open the map up to a wider area? Just adjust your search radius anywhere from 0.25 miles up to 5 miles to fit your needs. To do this, tap the map settings button in the top right of the map and select “Set Radius.” This lets you tailor your experience—whether you’re looking for a coffee spot down the street, or new connections across town. 

 HYV gives you full control over how visible you are to others in the app. Choose the setting that fits the way you want to connect:

• All Users – Your profile and activity are visible to everyone on HYV, whether or not you’re connected.
   
• Connections – Only your in-app connections can see you; non-connections cannot.
   
• No One – You remain completely hidden from other users, while still being able to explore and see them.
   
• Custom – Hand-pick a specific group(s) or who can see you, giving you the flexibility to shape your own experience.
   

With these options, you decide how open—or selective—you want to be, while still keeping HYV’s community within reach.

With HYV, your safety and privacy come first. The Safety Fence feature lets you create up to three custom zones around places that matter most—like your home, workplace, or any location where you want extra control.

Each Safety Fence is fully configurable:

• Choose the size of the fence to cover just the right area.
   
• Decide who can see you when you’re inside it—no one, only your connections, or even a specific group you select.
   

Think of it as an automatic privacy switch. The moment you enter a Safety Fence, HYV applies your chosen visibility settings—so you can move through your day knowing you’re always in control of how (and if) others see you.

 Sharing on HYV is simple and intentional. You can create a post with text, a photo, or a video—whatever you’d like to share with your community. Posts appear in the Nearby Feed based on your visibility settings and are also added to the Global Feed so your content can reach users beyond your area.

 To share your own post, simply tap the button in the top left corner of your screen, or slide up on the modal bar at the bottom and select “Post.” 

To explore what others have shared, just visit their profile and tap “Posts.” You won’t see your own posts in your feed, but rest assured they’re visible to others according to your chosen settings.

At HYV, we don’t support “clout chasing.” That’s why you won’t find likes or upvotes on posts. Instead, we built something more meaningful: you can direct message a user straight from their post to let them know you appreciate it, support them, or just want to start a conversation.

 One thing to note: you won’t see your own posts in your feed, but rest assured they’re visible to others according to your chosen settings. 

 HYV’s feed is where your world and the wider community come together. By default, the Nearby Feed surfaces posts from users within your chosen radius, tailored by your visibility settings. It’s the easiest way to discover what’s happening around you in real time.

Want to broaden your view? Toggle to the Global Feed at the top of the screen to see posts from all of your connections across the world. It’s a window into what other HYV users are sharing, no matter where they are.

With both nearby and global perspectives, the feed keeps you connected to your circle while also letting you experience the bigger HYV community.

 The Quick Actions & Management page is your hub for discovery and control. From here, you can search and explore both connections and non-connections, making it easy to find and engage with other HYV users.

It’s also where you’ll manage the core features that shape your HYV experience—Groups, Events, and Connections. Whether you want to check in on what you’ve already built or create something new, this page puts everything at your fingertips.

To start something fresh, just tap the buttons at the top of the screen by name—whether it’s an event, a group, or a post. Quick, simple, and designed to keep your community growing.

The Map Settings page gives you full control over how you explore and connect. Access it anytime by tapping the filter button in the top right corner of your map screen.

From here, you can:

• Filter your view to show only users, only events, or both.
   
• Use Full Discovery to see all nearby users and events in a clean list format.
   
• Instantly check how many items are on your map and what they are.
   
• Fine-tune your privacy and experience by adjusting your Visibility, Radius, and Safety Fence settings.
   

It’s your map, your rules—tailor what you see and how others see you with just a few quick taps.
